PJ Harvey's new single is taken from her forthcoming album. It seems to be anti-war song, you could even call it a protest song. I dont know if this is a thread running through her latest opus. I do know however that this single is pretty good. It has a folky type feel to it. Good stuff it is too. PJ's voice sounds well amazing. Floods production as ever is complex and sturdy, its a great canvas for PJs ideas. The imagery within the songs is also interesting, almost vicseral. It has lines about body parts hanging in trees, and wanting to feel calm in a warzone. I like how the song plays out. It is quite cinematic and very interesting. I reckon the words "return" and "to form" should be used somewhere. It's the best thing I've heard by PJ for ages. If you only buy one record this year... then you probably should get a better job with more scope for disposable income. Its a great single and you MUST BUY THIS!! (on order of the Contessa of Spain 1634...) Wonderful stuff......
