These guys are ace. They make me realize that loads of bands are not worth listening to. They are agitated fellows by the sounds of things, yet they have a mischievous funny edge that makes you feel quite frankly, mental. Its the way its choc-full of repetitive beats and shouty vocals that I like. It kind of draws you into its web. After listening to this single I reckon they wouldn't use a web to draw you in..they would probably get a hamster into a velcro suit and get you stuck on it. And its recorded live to tape, which I also proper bum..a slice of angsty genius.
Total Brits abroad and avoiding the electric chair. Chips for the Poor are twirling their lasso's and hopping off the wagon. They've been visited by the kung-fu of Christmas past and shaken by the prospect of a future talking with the fishes (note they swim 3 times a week at East London’s York Hall). They got grabbed up by a fresh-like-the-daisy-age vibe and have grappled the one armed bandit drum machine and bounced their bread boxes off weekends suppin diesel leaks and home made margaritas to vom up the spring/summer/autumn/winter hits of 2010/11/12…
