Everyone has a middle name now - have you noticed? I was flicking through an edition of Uncut and almost every touring singer-songwriter had three, not two names. I'm sure it has to do with internet search engines. For example, there's probably loads of Lewis Henry's and Henry Lewis's out there but probably very few Lewis Floyd Henry's! Anyway wittering over, here he is with a single on Adjust records. It's got an interesting backstory if you believe the press release? He carries a big pram around with him containing an amplifier and a customised drum kit and plays on street corners in London. On the A-side he does a fair impression of an updated Mississippi bluesman with a jaunty bluesy blast, good but not too much more than Charlie Parr and the likes haven't re-created before, but its on the B-side where you think there may be more to him than a novelty youtube phenomenon and a placard reading "authentic re-creator of the blues". 'Magic Carpet Ride' is a psychedelic fuzzed out gem recalling the likes of Arthur Lee and Jimi Hendrix! The album should be interesting - it has 30 tracks on it and contains paeans to the Lake District.
