Khunnt - Dead Eyes

Dead Eyes by Khunnt

4...according to our on Thu 20 Jan, 2011.

And on to the charmingly named Khunnt who are some chaps from Newcastle rocking it out with a bunch of guitars from the sound of things. Feedback and doom are the order of the day, with the album consisting of sludgy doom rock. Slow drums and massive riffs creating mantra-ish rhythms which will slowly crush your brains into a dirty pink mess. Feel like I should have got the word grind in there too. Ah well.... There's a wee bit of Burning Witch in here (albeit a bit faster) and it's more than likely gonna appeal to you doomy metal types you like Southern Lord and that. I feel like it's ages since I've heard a record like this! We need to play more shit like this in the office!

Dead Eyes ‐ Heavy 180g 12" vinyl pressing with
hand screen printed sleeves. For fans of
Corrupted, Khantate, Noothgrush, The Body,
Noxagt, Southern Lord.
Formed in 2006, Khünnt have fervently
explored the boundaries of esoteric music,
from minimalist/noise/drone to live
improvisation and psychedelic mantra.
Focusing exclusively on a more aggravated and
blighted composition, ‘Dead Eyes’ reflects the
bands most recent forages into noise and
sludge. Comparable to works by Corrupted,
Noothgrush, The Body, the bleak and at times
unbearable landscape of ‘Dead Eyes’ is a
passage of hypnotic despair.
