Keijo - Remember Sometimes

Remember Sometimes by Keijo

4...according to our on Thu 20 Jan, 2011.

Another limited one. Only 48 of this one. I can't remember if I've heard this guy before so I thought I'd whack it on and see what happens. It wasn't what I expected..... I thought it would be a big psychedelic sprawling rock-a-thon but it's more of a noodley jazzy experimantal album. But there's all kinds of things in there... I'm just listening to 'The Way It Is' and it's got a bluesy harmonica and a rocky bass ploughing through it. That's accompanied by some noodley guitar and a general improv feel. Some rather stoned/bored sounding vocals appear when you hit the album track... the harmonica is a pleasing noise to my ears as I can't remember the last time I heard one. The 12 minute 'On Journey' which closes the album is an epic sprawling psych epic which sounds very different to the rest of the album.... this track is more stoned psych/folky sounding and weirdly it's my highlight of the album! It's got tinkly Tibetan sounding bicycle bells which I'm very fond of the sound of.

It's always a pleasure to work with Keijo .Here he makes his welcomed return with "Remember Sometimes".A rather enjoyable album. This is his third release on Reverb Worship .The album contains six tracks of psychedelic shuffle. He visits the blues with a smattering of improvised jazz and clattery percussion with his usual style. The cd comes in an edition of 48 copies with handmade sleeve's made from coated orange coloured paper with pasted artwork and hand numbered insert.
