We rinsed the hell out of that first Go! Team album in this office. I used to love to DJ with that Huddle Formation tune especially, what a party banger that was! I dunno how often their exclamation mark gets used, I keep forgetting they've got one! They've a third album outnow, I never even heard the second installment! Look how I keep on stumbling across the exclamation key! There it goes again! Do you truly wanna know how I feel about this record? Well they've basically delivered a by-numbers Go! Team album stacked with euphoric pop collage/festival busting anthems. Problem is their shtick sounds a bit passe in 2011 but you cannot fault the exuberance of it all. At it's most rowdy it sounds like The Avalanches rutting against a bunch of nubile cheerleaders. At it's most melodic & harmonious it resembles the kind of ramalama 60's Motown flecked thang The Pipettes used to do. But Brett already told you that in the review for the single.
Basically, if you still dig their old records, I think another one landing on your mat may well brighten your day. They definitely know how to brighten the airwaves of your mind this multi faceted lot! Also, must comment that when I saw them at Glastonbury in 2005 they were absolutely the quietest band I'd ever heard (post curfew) but still managed to host a monster celebration!
