Cold War Kids - Mine Is Yours

COLD WAR KIDS are proud to announce the release of their third studio album - “MINE IS YOURS” - via Downtown Records on 24th January. The band enlisted Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Tom Waits, Modest Mouse) to record and produce the eleven song collection over a period of three months in Nashville TN, and Los Angeles, CA.

This is the band’s first full-length album since their September 2008 release, “Loyalty to Loyalty”. The band also released the critically acclaimed EP, “Behave Yourself”, in December 2009.

“Mine Is Yours” finds the band harnessing their idiosyncratic soul punk sound as it takes a massive leap forward in song-writing, sonics and execution. Lead singer Nathan Willett took a different approach to his writing on this record as well, offering more intimate and personal lyrical content: “I got home from tour and realized I was married. All my friends had either jumped in the deep end of a relationship or had drowned. When did things get so serious? We fought growing up but the wild nights and free-for-all caught up with us. Some people got out in time and others had permanent damage. For this record, I wrote about the joys and failures of commitment all around me.”
