This one confounded my expectations by totally not being the future garage style I was expecting but rather a fine slab of stompin' house with a straight up 4/4 kick and latter day Chi-town sound that recalls a more refined Jamal Moss, then there's the processed vocals and chords which are straight up Detroit house inspired. A sweet tune that's even a little reminiscent of Kevin Saunderson. 'Ladywell' on the flip has a damn solid kick drum that builds with rim-shots, a soulful vocal snatch and melancholy melody. Both fine examples of proper quality, well crafted house music with super slick production.
Following up J. Doe/ BRKLN CLLN with two Detroit-tinged house assassins, once again infectiously weaving the sultry and euphoric together with the deep and menacing.
