On the back of Shake's retrospective ‘Frictionalism 1994-2009’ compilation, some producers from the new generation who were influenced by him one way or another have been enlisted to remix his music. Since Shake's catalogue is such a diverse one, different directions were sought out for the remix input, and after Falty DL and SCD repped the whole dubstep / future house / funky / wtvr scene on the first EP, now the vanguard of a new generation techno producers step up for EP # 2, in the shape of Sweden’s Skudge and MRSK. Skudge are already famed for their 2010 output on their eponymous label, and MRSK caused a stir with his ridiculous tech-dub-soul ‘Black Keith’ / ‘Close To Me’ debut 12” on Rush Hour in the spring. Both producers excel at a relentlessly forward, gritty yet funky production style and both do not disappoint with their re-fixes.
