OMG. I hate that kind of jargon but I'm being forced, at gunpoint, to review another ambient record. I've tried to split this exhaustingly long day of reviews up into totally different styles to keep my mind fresh. How do you describe this? It's "glacial", "haunting", "moving" and "evocative". What else do you use to describe this? I could get me thesaurus out but then i'd end up sounding like an intellectual type digging for metaphors. It's a fucking AMBIENT RECORD duh! The two themed picture discs are really quite lovely looking. The drifting blankets of sound - AKA the music - is of an exceptional standard, littered with ghostly sped-up vocal snippets, like arctic mist that seeps like vapour into your conscience (like that did yer?) A bit like on a Burial record. Say, I'm a massive Biosphere fan but if Philthy brought over his "hypothetical" new CD right now for me to , i'd aim the case right. At. That. Space. Between. His. Nose. Bullseye! So, if you dig ambient music this is the shit and looks well pose. (Bradford slang for "smart")
