And They Call Me Mad by Conan O'Brien

Bit of an oddity this one but worthy all the same due to the fact that Conan O'Brien is a funny motherfucker with an outstanding ginger quiff. This is part of the Third Man Records Green Series of spoken word/instructional 7"s so I'm assuming there are others but this is the first I've come across. Here Conan improvises a spoken word piece based on the legend of Frankenstein. If I tell you much about it I'll kinda ruin the jokes for any potential listeners but rest assured this is a charmingly comical take on the themes presented in the Frankenstein tale. Flip it over and you get a interview with Conan conducted by none other than Third Man head honcho himself; Jack White. Again, there are many laughs to be had, especially when Jack reels off a number of potential nicknames for Mr. O'Brien. A few Canadian jokes, an excellent Jay Leno impression and a spiel about being on the road kept me thoroughly entertained. Better than most of the 7"s I have to listen to each week yet completely devoid of any music... Interesting. Available on a wax cylinder.

Conan O Brien s contribution to Third Man Records Green Series of Spoken Word/Instructional records. And They Call Me Mad? is Conan s hilarious improvised take on the Frankenstein legend. The B side of the single is an interview with Conan conducted by friend Jack White.
