A limited thing on Rural Colours now, this is a four tack job which touches down in sad, slow emotive rock fields. The closest comparison I can muster from the first couple of tracks is early Radiohead, early Doves & bizarrely, early My Morning Jacket too - I get this idea from the foggy, echo-laden disembodied vocal style. I think there's a subtle post-rock/math element creeps in on later tracks with this music but I'm a little baffled as to who they're aiming this at. These Hebden Bridge lads come across like a half decent introverted indie rock band from ten years ago, this sad-eyed mid-paced style doesn't seem to be endorsed very much these days but Hidden Bek seem to relish wallowing in these wistful, moderately epic waters. I fucking love the Terminator quote masquerading as quirky title BTW..... But is that one of them playing nude crazy golf on the sleeve, dressed in shades & crocs? No boys NO!
From Hebden Bridge in Yorkshire members of Widgykeff and Cool Piano Roll merge to grind riff-filth together with slowcore sonics to inspire a reverb-laden paradise where melodies melt away into the ether.
