Carlos Nino & Jesse Peterson - Turn On The Sunlight

‘Turn On The Sunlight’ is the new duo project from composer and multi-instrumentalist Jesse Peterson, and visionary producer / performer Carlos Niño (Build An Ark, Dublab, Life Force Trio, Spaceways Radio, etc … ). The two previously collaborated on the acclaimed Carlos Niño & Friends Kindred Spirits record ‘High With A Little Help From’, delivered a stellar ambient remix of Build An Ark on the same label’s ‘Dawn Remixes’ EP, and most recently joined forces for Carlos Niño's ‘Ocean Swim Mix’ CD on Japan’s Art Union. Now, ‘Turn On The Sunlight’ presents a focused set of their work together. Comprised of 12 new songs, recorded over the last two years in both New York and Los Angeles, spanning the realms of folk, experimental, guitar, soulful California groove, and psychedelia, ‘Turn On The Sunlight’ is an exploratory journey through sound, feeling and dimension. The two men sing and play a variety of instruments on this expansive, heartfelt release, that, without making too grandiose a comparison, could be described as a dream state where John Fahey and Brian Eno make music about the ocean, the stars, and unashamed love. An outstanding folk / jazz album of gorgeous songs and profound instrumental talent, mainly acoustic, barefoot and bearded.
