Eels - Baby Loves Me

Baby Loves Me by Eels

2...according to our on Thu 25 Nov, 2010.

Is this guy having a joke? Why's he still going? He's like Weezer - he doesn't know when to call it a day. I know he's had the shittiest of lives but for fuck's sake man, no need to lay it on everyone else. Like, all the fucking time. This sounds like Beck-lite hobo-pop made for people who think America is the only country in the world & that the man who masquerades as Eels may be a visionary poet, like some kind of homely genius. There's people in bedrooms all over the world making far better experimental bedroom pop than this but Mark Everett takes the prize & the stack of cash money. Where's the justice in that? ...And to think I bought his first album. What a doufus. Seeing this record in my pile did make me recall The Eels song from The Mighty Boosh which is the only positive thing about 'Baby Loves Me'.

The 2nd single to be lifted from Eels latest album “Tomorrow Morning”. Comes backed with album track ‘After The Earthquake’.

“Tomorrow Morning” is the final instalment of a trilogy that began with “Hombre Lobo” (June 2009) and “End Times” (January 2010). The new record is one of brightest Eels frontman Mark Oliver Everett, aka E has recorded in his illustrious song writing career and this is borne out in the beautiful “Spectacular Girl”.

If three albums in the space of 14 months was not enough Eels are also about to embark on world tour. It will be the first time Eels have performed live since the release of Hombre Lobo, End Times and Tomorrow Morning.

TRACKLISTING:
