The Chapman Family - All Fall

All Fall by The Chapman Family

These North-Eastern noisenik crew's new single is pretty good. It sounds like Maximo Park if they had been lifting weights and listening to QOTSA ather than lifting books and listening to Morrisey. The wusses. Anyway, this single is a hi-tempo affair with a hook laden chorus, a couple of rousing verses and a 6 minute long madrigal breakdown. Erm, not really! Well the madrigal part is not happening but the rest of the above sentence is true. It might even be considered "anthemic" or something. The flip side is quite good too. It's a pounding flight of fancy. It's not too bad all in all. I just wish I didnt think of Byker Grove when I hear them sing....

Formed in 2005 around the talents of Kingsley, Paul, Pop, and Phil Chapman, the Chapman Family play a unique blend of folk-inspired hardcore punk, new wave, and indie rock that grew out of the band's home in northeast England. The group's first show on May 5, 2006, led to 250 more in the ensuing years, as well as appearances on various compilations and local, national, and international airplay. Known for their visceral live shows (the band's equipment is often reduced to rubble by the end of the night), the Chapman Family released their debut single in 2008 on Don't Tell Clare Records.
