Press release ain't got much to say for these kids other than that they we're handpicked to perform on the last Vampire Weekend tour which doesn't give away much. Hotly tipped by Drowned In Sound and the like, Cloud Control are a new signing to Infectious Music which I'm assuming is a rejigged version of Infectious Records (though I might be wrong about that). 'Meditation Song #2' begins in a folksy style before kicking into with some premium psychedelic rock action. It's all heavily distorted bass and 60's San Fran style vocal harmonies that remind me of Sleepy Sun if they decided to buck and write a cheerful number for once. B-side 'Into The Line' sounds less produced than the A-side and hints at Cloud Control's ability to manipulate a laid back folk rock jam in their favour. Sorta sounds like 'Zuma' era Neil Young with elements of Jack White's Third Man output and Sleepy Sun lingering on the outskirts.
‘Meditation Song’, their debut UK single on Infectious Music, already has Cloud Control hotly tipped by Drowned in Sound, Clash and The Fly ahead of their debut album set for release in 2011.
The band were handpicked to tour with Vampire Weekend.
