This kicks off with an intro which is like a big Congolese drumming thing and then SBTRKT's 'We Want War' remix gets going with techy and bleepy flourishes working the rhythm into a clever beast of a floor friendly post dubstep number. '3000' gets redone by Main Attrakionz who apply their Californian hip-hop swagger which is an original take but not a particularly great track in it's own right. 'Hologram' get's remixed by Salem who seem to be causing waves at the moment. They pitch down the vocal and add some shimmering ethereal sounds. Ghost Hunter next and they/ he/ she offer up a moody downtempo spooked electro version. I refuse to use that stupid Witch House tag... Shit I just did.
· Ahead of their ‘Hidden Live’ London Barbican show (with
full orchestral backing) These New Puritans release a 10"
white vinyl collection of the their favourite remixes from
their critically acclaimed second album 'Hidden’.
· First track ‘Introduction’ is a brand new piece from These
New Puritans, containing reworked elements from the
single ‘We Want War’.
· Then comes SBTRKT’s mix of ‘We Want War’, after which
SBTRKT remixed for the likes of Mark Ronson and MIA,
and released a record on Young Turks (The XX).
· Much hyped Salem reworked TNPS third single from
‘Hidden’, ‘Hologram’, into a chopped’n’screwed dead eyed
rap drag, now appearing on vinyl due to popular demand.
· Oakland California’s smoked and swagged Main Attrakionz
offer a masterful MC version of ‘Three Thousand’.
· Lastly, ‘We Want War’ is reimagined as blissed out post
dubstep by Ghost Hunter, who recently released a record
on hot new label House Anxiety.
· Available on limited edition heavyweight
