They don't half go to town with this guy's 7"s - brick-thick vinyl, picture inners and outers made of high quality card.. I've reviewed many an LP with far less to boast. Good job he's good at what he does (tastefully arranged contemporary folk-pop) or it'd make it all seem so futile. The A-side here's a bit of a melancholy plodder but not in a bad way, it's more that it sets its stall out that way and does the job it intends (I, for one, sighed). The flip is (slightly) more upbeat and of a similarly good quality. His voice really reminds me of someone but fuck knows who. Sorry, that's not very helpful, is it?
