Coals To Newcastle by Orange Juice

God this looks soooo nice. Shame i'm not a huge fan but then again, I can totally see their wide-ranging influence & appeal. As that top musical scribe Reynolds says, they injected the early 80s with a heavy dose of Joie De Vivre when everyone else on the indie scene was dressing in huge overcoats & being massively, frowningly existential & dark. This heavy set is in a thick deluxe bugger of a box with seven discs (their entire recorded output over 6 CDS & a DVD of their rare concert video 'Dada With the Juice') If that isn't enough to get the sensitive indie-funk-souler inside you squeaking with delight then I don't know what else could possibly tempt you to squeeze this into your weekly budget? If I missed out on this then i'd be crushed. Just imagine peeling the cellophane away and indulging in the freshest 80's indie pop from these wee Glasgow pips. I'm not taking the pith here, this is sumptuous. Orange you glad I wrote this review? (the gaffer said to write that, sorry!) x
