8 Selections and Premonitions from the Tower, Vol.II by CWK Joynes & The Restless Dead

5...according to our on Thu 30 Sep, 2010.

Here's volume 2 of the 8 Selections From The Tower series which is a 5 part series from all accounts. There's a lot of numbers in that sentence and i they don't all add up then I'm sorry. I feel kinda confused by it as I thought there would be 8 parts but no... I think that's the title. Here Mr Joynes is joined by his Restless Dead for a second single on GPS. This one also features The Doozer who's doing some percussion, synths and keyboards. It's predominantly solo guitar though and here you get another 2 amazing pieces of work from CWK Joynes. Everything I hear from this guy rules and this is no exception. I'm not really sure what I can say that I haven't said before but if you're into solo guitar stuff then you'll love this (I think I've reviewed every other record we've had by him for some reason). Excellent stuff!

Finally ready to roll is Volume 2 of Chris Joynes’ collaborative series of 45s w/ like minded friends and soundsmiths remixing and reworking tunes for The Great Pop Supplement and Bo Weavil’s ongoing 5 part project.

“The Limehouse Golem” opens to a droning, eastern tinged string and electronic backing over which Chris’s beautifully meditative Faheyesque picking provide epic overlay. Backed by the gorgeous “The Godolfin Arabian”, this is truly a beautiful record. Packed in stunning, numbered die cut sleeves and on lovely blue wax, this commercial pressing of just 350 copies will disappear super quick.
