When NR1 Records first spotted young musicians Danielle and Doug (17 and 19), playing live, they were blown away. Not in an excess decibel way, because Alloy Ark are quieter than a church mouse, but because they are highly original and, most of all, fun. Their songs are short, melodic, and are full of heart and wonderful rhythms, from jazz to waltz, a mix of the cultures that formed their upbringings, including Mauritian, American, English, French and Indian.
