This is the first single from Cloudland Canyon's first new LP 'Fin Eaves' which is out on Holy Mountain anytime now. Stylistically C.C. are firmly in that krautrock-informed psych rock terrain. 'Mothlight Part 2''s (5:37) rhythm section sort of reminds me of the Moon Duo stuff with its repetitive bass and drum motif coupled with reverberant, spaced out guitar and vocals drifting all over the place. This is little bit more tuneful and indie pop inspired than Moon Duo but it'll give you an idea of what to expect. Especially tranquil stuff. B-side 'In The Cold' (4:24) treads a lighter path and drifts by almost noticed though a closer listen does reveal a kinda cool early Ride style shoegazy psych pop song. Softly does it C.C.

Cloudland Canyon are widely respected for their shimmering approach to music, a combination of elements as varied as krautrock, shoegaze, pop, and drone.
