Now, this guy got my goat with one of his releases. So much so, I refused to have anything to do with him for a while (if you must know it was the title of that CD he did dedicated to his own "sleeping statue") I thought "You self-important prick" I'm not afraid to admit, though, that this double 10" set is quite beautiful. This is a neo-classical masterpiece in parts - the particularly volatile & thrilling strings on 'Patient Observation' are especially notable. He successfully moves me to the very core during numerous periods of this conjoined album (this twin vinyl set is derived from the previously released CD 'Music for Falling From Trees ' & a new ballet 'Music for Congregation') The 'MFC' installment begins with a gently swelling, twinkly ambient piece, moving onto a sublime, stirring string & harpsichord based number. The last side has more foreboding gravity, a constantly ascending piece with much emphasis on bass & fluttering strings which (for me) possesses both an unsettling & euphoric nature. Bidding farewell with the tender chamberisms of 'Disappearance', I must finally concede that this guy is a real big cheese. He's still a bit of a tool though, I've got to retain my mild distrust to save face....
