Team Ghost - Celebrate What You Can't See EP

Celebrate What You Can't See EP by Team Ghost

4...according to our on Thu 07 Oct, 2010.

A four track 7" plus a download code so you can get the whole thing onto your computer/personal music player AND gain an extra track. The musical genre is French digital shoegaze. I was going to say the main comparison would be M83 when I looked at the press release to find that this is the project of M83 co-founder Nicolas Fromageau (English translation: Nicolas Cheesy). Slow burning epic tunes with layer upon layer of blissed out electronic scree placed on top, spikes of Jarre like electronics emerge from the din. Two vocal tracks are intersected by electronic instrumentals. There are nods towards Spiritualized on the final track before the whole thing erupts into a cathedral of sound with big bombastic drums and yet more synth wash and noise. Again Sigur Ros springs to mind. But M83 fans will relish this.

· The second EP from the new band formed by M83 cofounder
Nicolas Fromageau.

· The follow-up to ‘You Never Did Anything Wrong To Me’
EP, which was acclaimed everywhere from the blogs to the
broadsheets.

· Following the release of the first EP, the band were invited
to support big fans Crystal Castles.

· ‘Celebrate What You Can’t See’ finds Team Ghost at their
most blissed out, coupling two celestial instrumentals with
two slow-burning mini-epics.

· Available on vinyl and digital download.
· The vinyl is limited to only 300 copies and includes a free
download code.

· “Team Ghost has inherited the serious, slow-burn energy
of the first two M83 albums while somehow picking up the
best parts of everything that’s happened since” –
Cokemachineglow.

· “A vital, necessary-sounding EP… A triumphant (yet
wistfully subdued) return for its creator” – Pitchfork.

· “These Parisians combine nu-gaze walls of din with the
surly dungeon synths of their hometown’s buzztastic cold
wave sound” - NME.
