This is more like it. Nicholas Palmer A.K.A Directorsound serenade with three pieces that invoke the fun of fairground tomfoolery as well as the sinking post fairground, back at home, bored melancholy. All three pieces are playful adventures in sound and melody that appear blissful to my ears on this rain soaked afternoon. Piano, flute, strings and vibes (among others) all play their appropriate part in bringing these compositions to life. Very dreamy bedtime affairs that remind me of half forgotten good times had. Beautiful stuff.
The third installment in Tona Serenad's series of 7 inch vinyls sees Nicholas Palmer and his musical moniker Directorsound showcasing through 3 pieces the paradoxical fairground joy and poignant melodicism of forthcoming album “Two Years Today”.
Palmer's juggernaut of sound creates through meticulous overdubs a hand-sewn tapestry, shifting back and forth from ramshackle elation to tender introspection.
7" vinyl limited to 300 hand numbered copies.
