British Sea Power - Zeus EP

Zeus EP by British Sea Power

4...according to our on Thu 30 Sep, 2010.

New release from BSP...same high quality. This band know how to do the sweeping guitar rock thing really well and this latest venture is every bit as interesting and visceral as anything else they have produced. The title track flies by on an alarming mixture of tempo changes and shouty vocals. It dosent prepare you for what's coming next, as the next few tracks throw real curve balls. They are emotive, subtle and have a sort of ballad feel that is quite interesting. These chipmunks pack oodles of variation and real top shelf quality into there songs. It's not Razzle...its a bit more like Playboy or Sports Illustrated. This EP sounds great. It has an awesome production sound, that's introspective yet welcoming. All in all a winner....

· The wait is finally over. British Sea Power are back with a brand new mini album. This will precede a new album in early 2011.

· Since their Top 10 Mercury nominated album ‘Do You Like Rock
Music?’ and awesome re-working of ‘The Man Of Aran’ soundtrack,
British Sea Power have been playing shows and film festivals as far and wide as Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Australia, Poland, Norway and Wimbledon Common.

· They held another Tan Hill Extravaganza, their very own festival in the highest pub in England where even sheep are allowed in the bar. There were fireworks, guided walks, wrestling, husky racing and eating doughnuts from pieces of string.

· Guitarist Martin Noble has been especially busy. Alongside Marc Riley (6Music and The Fall) and Guy Garvey (Elbow), he presented a bird watching show on Radio 4, ‘In Search Of The Holy Quail’.

· Martin also compiled a bird-themed music compilation for the Caught By The River website and, along with fellow bandmates Yan and Phil, members of The Brakes and the Jonathan Richman tribute group The Modern Ovens, recorded a song for The World Cup under the name The Bench Warmers, which accrued 5000 downloads in a week.
