Pull In Emergency - Pull In Emergency

Pull In Emergency by Pull In Emergency

With two limited 7"s to their name, I thought these guys/gals had been doing this band as a hobby whilst they were waiting for their GCSE results. I mean, 2 singles in 2 years? That's well slack in today's aggressive market where bands literally rub themselves in your faces wherever you look. It's like Amsterdam out there but with guitars 'n haircuts instead of naked breasts. Not sure what to make of this debut eponymous collection. They're grazing in a field between the ones marked Property of Farmer Sky Larkin and Keep off!! - order of Farmer Peggy Sue. Pretty trad rough-around-the-edges indie with that sort of generic tremulous yelpy female vocal that loads of the girls are showcasing these days (it really get confusing). I like the guitars though, they sound hearty and raw with loads of dinky hooks. I really don't know where they'll fit into the equation these kids but theirs is an honest & reassuringly unpretentious schtick & I kinda like their energy & determination.

Having released two perfect 7"s on the Mute Irregulars imprint, it's time for Pull In Emergency to drop their anticipated debut
album on the world at large. Produced by Gordon Raphael (The Strokes, Regina Spektor), Pull In Emergency offer up their self-
titled debut, full of love, lust, glee and anger. The ten track collection sees the band move from a jangly indie combo into a grittier, fuzzier proposition, though their collective ear for a catchy melody is still impeccably well tuned. It's a consistently impressive mixed bag of tricks, one that’s the product of a group who are constantly evolving and consistently hitting the nail of guitar pop greatness and giddy lovestruck rock square on the head. Featuring Everything Is The Same, currently available as a free download from the band's site http://www.pullinemergency.wordpress.com, and current single 15 Years.
