Teengirl Fantasy - 7AM

7AM by Teengirl Fantasy

Teengirl Fantasy are a hotly tipped outfit from Ohio whose first single for Merok 'Portofino' had the lads in office feeling real good, if a little sleepy. That's right, we're talking light dreamy and highly inoffensive electro dance that delivers like a dose of Nightol. This may sound a little like a diss but that's not how I meant it dude. '7AM' is a fantastic record full of inventive and lovable tracks that sit somewhere between the inventive pop aesthetics of Animal Collective and the fuzzy, blissed sounds of your Washed Out's and your Neon Indian's of the world. The beats here are listener friendly whilst maintaining a freshness that keeps me intrigued. The selection of breezy synth-tones applied here are also super listener friendly with arpeggios, dreamy harps, lost vocal shards and fantastically treated strings drifting in out of the mix as the beat drifts slowly on. First impressions are favorable. If you like Memory Tapes and stuff like that then you'll probably wanna check this out.
