This is a compilation of Ms Morgenstern's tunes from 1998- 2010. Wow - that's a long long time. Many, many years indeed. Each one fading into the next as you get older and older until death approaches....... Anyway... Barbara is a German lady with a lovely voice and a neat line in innocent sounding electronic pop with bleepy bits. Sometimes sung in German, sometimes in English, this as you imagine is a mixed bag of sounds but it meshes together pretty well and over the years the electronics fade and slightly more avant garde instruments are brought in and fuller productions. She duets with Robert Wyatt and is produced by Pole at one point and Thomas Fehlman at another. It's all distinctive, slightly on the edge lady-pop and a nicely rounded collection detailing nicely how her music has progressed over the years. For the uninitiated think: Stereolab, Lali Puna that type of thing but generally she's out on her own.
