My favorite holiday songs are the ones that really make you want to go on yer jollidays. Like "Holiday Road " by Lyndsay Buckingham from "National Lampoons Vacation" or that really bad rap song By MC Miker & DJ Sven. This falls short because A) its not that memorable and B) if you went on Holiday with George Formby to Cleethorpes this is what it would sound like. I'm well gutted. I expect more from these New Yorkers, but as Mick jagger once said "You cant always get what you want..". The flip side is better in my opinion, but what do I know? I'm just a one legged sea-farer with a hamster for a leg and eyes made out of fat liposuctioned from Marlon Brando's ass....man that's salty...
Perfectly timed to soundtrack the UK summer, Vampire Weekend will release their brilliant new single ‘Holiday’ on 7th June. It comes on the back of the huge international success of their second album ‘Contra’ which was released in January.
‘Contra’, the follow up to Vampire Weekend’s million selling debut album, topped the US album charts on its release. The album was the first US number one from an independent UK record label in nearly two decades – while it entered the top 10 in album charts across the globe
Meanwhile, following a sold out UK tour in February (including two London shows at Brixton Academy), Vampire Weekend will be returning to the UK throughout the summer for a string of festival appearances. These will include a Pyramid Stage performance at the Friday of the Glastonbury Festival and a headline slot at this year’s Latitude Festival.
