Following James Chance and The Contortions’ recent performance at All Tomorrow’s Parties festival in May, which was curated by The Simpsons’ creator and James Chance fan Matt Groening, History Records are releasing ‘Twist Your Soul – The Definitive Collection’ which was compiled by James Chance himself. The release comprises of two discs – the studio tracks from the first CD are James Chance’s favourites from the ‘70s and ‘80s with a strong focus on the funk, while the live second CD consists of unreleased tracks from the 90’s and later, culled from James’ personal archive.
