Yeah, I can hear the old SST influences on here. That strange, wibbling free-form guitar sound with a bit of an acoustic thrash undertone. When hardcore became "post" and got more melodic with all those ace hooks 'n' swirling riffs bubbling beneath the songs. Both dense, muscular but strangely cerebral & somehow quite dreamy too, Adam Payne's vision of modern rock is blatantly indebted to Minutemen & early Dinosaur Jr. et al but considering how great those bands were I don't blame him for throwing this spirited & random mess of psychedelic punk & eccentric deviant college rock at us. Interesting stuff on here for defs. Vinyl only I think but you get the customary download coupon in there!!

Dead Head evokes the guitar-heavy fried punk of SST records' output from the 80's and features vocal contributions from Jessie Clavin of Mika Miko and Jess Scott of Brilliant Colors. 500 pressed. Comes with download. Records on Holy Mountain, Elevation and Rocket have set the bar high, this just drags their asses, if you ever blew a gasket to the latest SST release way back, or even just started dipping toes into that ocean..this one you need. (and the Moonhearts too!)
