This is the debut single from a bunch of noisy lads known as the Rent Boys. I've not seen these guys live yet but I'd imagine that it's a harrowing experience. On record they bring to mind a more fucked up and perverse version of A Place To Bury Strangers with there ramped up vision of psychedelic garage sounding not to dissimilar in parts. The guitars are frenzied, loud and reverberant. The bass and drums are totally unstoppable in a Divorce-esque way and the vocals are totally distorted and indistinguishable, which is good 'cause i don't wanna know what the lyrics to 'Gang Love' are anyway. '****' and 'Ripped Up' bring to mind The Stooges, MC5 and The Cramps and reveals the band to be a trashy punk rock kind of affair at it's core. Dirty ass tunes recorded in a filthy ass way. You'll like it...totally. Recommended to all the Ty Seagal, Richie records, Kurt Vile, Black Time fans. Oh, great sleeve too.
