It has been a time space filled with starry anticipation, but the wait is finally over. The full-length debut by San Francisco's Tamaryn, entitled The Waves is coming out October 4th on Mexican Summer. The Waves is a masterful collision of hypnotic psychedelia and bittersweet dream pop. After working across coasts releasing an EP and several singles with collaborator and producer, Rex John Shelverton, Tamaryn left New York and settled in Rex's hometown of San Francisco to record their first full-length. With The Waves, they have created an effortless combination of driving pop, restrained vocals, and experimental soundscapes. Tamaryn sweetly takes her "stare at the sky" compositions to earthy levels of genuine grace, which holds true especially with the mystical title track and adventurous vibes of "Sandstone". What this all amasses to is a primal soundtrack, oceanic in its depth. Whether crashing with a squall of shrieking guitar and tribal drums or washing out in melodic, sun-stricken esoterica, the sound always shimmers and densely swells with a tidal churn.
