Cherry Ghost - Black Fang

Black Fang by Cherry Ghost

Big single this. Very anthemic stuff that's not entirely informed by a load of gash. It's anthemic in a Doves kinda way as opposed to a Coldplay kinda way, if you know what I mean. It packs tasteful pop melodies and rousing instrumentation whilst avoiding the usual stadium indie trappings. Kinda folksy stuff in the vein of Mumford & Sons I guess. Exclusive B-side 'Dancehall To Daybreak' confirms the folky theory and charms with its laid back, efficiently performed balladry. Sometime I can't believe the shit that comes out of my mouth.

Following a 2 year hiatus, the Ivor Novello award winning songwriters Cherry Ghost have regrouped and with the help of Dan Austin (Doves, Massive Attack) they have recorded one of the most hopeful, beguiling, theatrical, and ultimately captivating albums of the year. With an eclectic repertoire of songs that go way beyond simplistic melodies and rousing choruses, Cherry Ghost create a musical world of their own that’s as strong and as all-encompassing as a fictional voice. ‘Black Fang’ is a 4 minute romp that revives the spirit of The Velvet Underground & comes with exclusive b-side
