A new Mogwai album is a cause for celebration for many folks. Special Moves (I keep wanting to call it special needs.... I got it on the brain) is a stopgap inbetween proper studio albums as it's a live jobbie. It's available as a CD/DVD set which looks kinda nice or as a special vinyl box set which includes a triple LP, signed poster, CD/DVD set and a patch! I guess if you're entering into the whole debate as to whether you should buy this or not then you're probably familiar with Mogwai's post-rock broody instrumental sound so you don't need me to explain that to you. It's epic stuff though and Mogwai are an experience to be had live and this is as close as you'll get without being there with your branded ear plugs in. It's an enjoyable listen though and I'm sat here with my headphones on really enjoying 'Hunted By a Freak' again. I've not seen the DVD so I've no idea what that's like but I'm sure there's much epicness to be had here on all formats!
