Teeth! - See Spaces

See Spaces by Teeth!

Moshi Moshi, is there anything they can't do? Ok, Teeth. I've seen these kids before when they we're a two piece and I thought they sounded great. Now there is three which is sometimes a crowd but not today. The press release tells me they've finished ripping the Dalston/Shoreditch scene a new asshole and now it's our turn. Yes! A new asshole, just what I always wanted. Musically they aren't to far removed from the new Crystal Castles stuff though they do feature live drums which only enhances their dance punk appeal. 'See Spaces' is the perfect showcase and should help them reach a greater audience but it's the gnarly B-side 'Time Changes' that works best for me. It's harsh, to-the-point and reminiscent of early Numbers stuff fronted by Alice Glass when she's got a rage on. I like it, you like it, we all fucking love it. PEACE SIGNS or PIZZA SIGNS? You decide.

”what you really need is a band with too many exclamation marks who sound like they record in a skip” NME

“twenty-three minutes' worth of raucous joyous spastic skronky dancey whatever-wave with more ideas than time andmore pep in its step than a five-year old on Pixie Stick high.' PITCHFORK

Teeth - aka Ximon Tayki, Simon Whybray and Veronica So - have destroyed everything they’ve ever touched. All theirequipment wrecked, all their sounds blown out, every stage they’ve ever played annihilated. Busting out of the East London DIY scene not all that long ago, TEETH hacked their way through twitter's brightest stars(Lady Gaga anyone?), played the required Dalston parties and have finally pulled their socks up enough to be releasingtheir first single through the Moshi Moshi Singles Club. See Spaces is TEETH starting their quest for world domination via the medium of four and a half minutes of poundingbeats, ghostly vocals and intensely melodic synth lines. The song pulses its way through heartbreak and romance, atotal rave love vibe anthem. Teeth direct their own videos, conceptualize their photo shoots and produce their own fanzines. They like free stuff andexcel in charming it out of any likely candidates. Having supported New Young Pony Club and Is Tropical this year andalready being championed by Nick Grimshaw and Huw Stephens at Radio 1 and counting Karl Lagerfeld amongst their fans we recommend you catch their chaotic dance punk on the road this summer.
