Admiral Radley - I Heart California

Admiral Radley is : Jason Lytle and Aaron Burtch of GRANDADDY +  Aaron Espinoza and Ariana Murray of EARLIMART. If you ask the band to tell the story of how they came together, they may tell you stories involving French fries and wine, splinters, “shovel grips” and even meeting the elusive Admiral himself.    What we do know, is members of Grandaddy and Earlimart are long time friends who have toured together and also collaborated and constructed songs over the years.  The band’s time in the studio together was loose and enjoyable, sometimes hilarious and insane.   Years later, Jason, Ariana and both Aarons collectively decided to release these songs as an album on The Ship, which is both a recording studio and new record label owned and operated by Aaron Espinoza. Admiral Radley announced the band in February 2010 and played their first shows at/around SXSW 2010.   The inaugural “I Heart Calfornia” tour kicked off at LA’s Hammer Musuem on July 8th and featured pit stops in many of the band members’ old stomping grounds throughout California.  The debut album also titled I Heart California was released to glowing praise.  Other album highlights included live sessions at taste-making radio stations like LA’s KCRW and Seattle’s KEXP.
