I'm gonna see if I can match up the accapella of that old Lumidee R'n'B tune with this 12" by Joe. It's got that lovely clicky percussion thing snaking all the way through, a intermittent minimal low-end prod/pulse with sudden infrequent bassier drum rolls. 'Claptrap' is a really fresh, stripped back rhythm track when all's said & done. The boys can hear a stylistic similarity to the amazing 'Spastik' by Plastikman. 'Level Crossing' has a similar pace but with a more insistent kickdrum & some jazzy Detroit style edits. It's definitely the more slamming floor-mover of the two, possessing some lovely organic cowbell style flourishes & an occasional thrilling whistle. Absolute class is this one, I've also been loving the whole kerfuffle over the supposed pseudonym "Joe" - " Nah it's just a mate of ours called Joe" retorted Hessle Audio to the bloggers hysteria! Keep it simple guys! Phil is liking this 12" too because it's really percussive and doesn't actually sound very dubstep which brings him out in a horrid rash.
Limited info but number 14, Hessle Audio present a 2-track 12″ from Joe, who previously appeared on HES 007.
