Clubfeet - Gold On Gold

Gold On Gold by Clubfeet

Clubfeet are a Melbourne three-piece outfit, two-thirds from Cape Town, one-third native Melbournite, whose songs have infiltrated hearts around the globe. Their debut album ‘Gold On Gold’ has drawn comparisons from the critics to the likes of Hot Chip, The Teenagers, Junior Boys and ‘Lowlife’ / ‘Brotherhood’-era New Order, but their whimsical lyrics and plaintive melodies offer a different take on the usual tales of lost love, late night parties, and infidelities. Their mellifluous vocals, multi-layered synths, seductive melodies and inspirational multi-layered electro constructions create the impression that ‘Gold On Gold’ was recorded on warm nights on the Cote d’Azur, mixed aboard an Ibiza-bound yacht, and cut on the last Concorde over the Atlantic. However, this album is a purely Australian creation. Coming to the attention of Plant Music via myspace, their first release for the label was the single ‘Teenage Suicide (Don’t Do It)’, rich slice of electronic pop that cheekily references the 80’s black comedy ‘Heathers’. Clubfeet also wrote and performed the theme song to MTV’s ‘Fanwalk UK’, ‘Pull It Together’, which closes out ‘Gold On Gold’, and they have turned in some stellar remixes for other artists such as Yeasayer, The Teenagers, The Glass, and The Transients.
