Granite Shore - Flood of Fortune

Flood of Fortune by Granite Shore

Flood of fortune b/w Highway code appears on 7" vinyl and was written and produced by Granite Shore leader Nick Halliwell aided and abetted by Phil Wilson (June Brides), Arash Torabi (The Painted Word) and Andy Fonda (Some Beans), also featuring a full 56-piece string arrangement by Vaughan Jones and brass by Probyn Gregory (Brian Wilson, Wondermints). Flood of fortune has a thread of subtle, subversive dissent running through it and, although musically its ambition is worn on its sleeve as strings swoop and horns blare, beneath the lush arrangement lurks a snarling, complex weft of lyrical allusion, as the hunt roars through chocolate-box heritage England in search of a throat it can still legally rip open, and the supermarket car parks quietly swallow up another square foot of sponsored green and pleasant land.
