Cathal Coughlan And The Grand Necropolitan Quartet - Rancho Tetrahedron

‘Rancho Tetrahedron’ is Cathal Coughlan’s fifth solo album, the first to bereleased through Kitchenware Records, home also to Prefab Sprout and Editors.

• In Spring 2007, Irish singer / songwriter CathalCoughlan (formerly of Microdisney and TheFatima Mansions) flew off to Southern Californiafor an indefinite stay. While he was there hecomposed music in a small timber framed cabinthat an old World War ll vet had built. In this free-spirited setting there was no evidence of any otheroutside musical influences, just Cathal along withhis ruminations.

• Later that same year, Cathal returned to Londonand began recording the album that was tobecome ‘Rancho Tetrehedron’, with the help of Oliver Knights (Turin Brakes) and AndyRamsay (Stereolab).
