Right, I'll admit it, I liked the first Marina and the Diamonds single. Irritating but hugely catchy. When I heard the album I realise i'd been duped. It was unbearable - I felt so stupid i considered sticking my head in the gas oven. This new single also is truly terrible. Intended solely for people who find Florence and the Machine a little too edgy. On the B side she tries to be Kate Bush but Kate Bush would never sing lines like "L.O.V.E is just another word i've never learnt to pronounce" over a plodding forgettable piano that seems to go on for about six years. Millions have been spent on this woman - millions.
Following her amazing performance at Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Marina and the Diamonds, AKA Greek/Welsh 24 year old Marina Diamandis, is proud to announce the release of new single ‘Oh No!’ on July 26th through 679.Recorded last year in LA with recent Ivor Novello award winner, Greg Kurstin, ‘Oh No!’ was the final track completed for the album, but has already become a firm fan favourite. The video will be directed by Kinga Burza, who last worked with Marina on her ‘Hollywood’ video. To accompany ‘Oh No!’ on the CD single will be a live version of 3Oh!3’s ‘Starstrukk’. After performing her unique (and brilliant) version on Radio 1’s Live Lounge a few weeks ago, she’s decided to include the cover on her current UK tour.
