These guys are pretty sweet. Its a bit 70s MOR crossed with spiky indie that may sound like the worst marriage since Rush Limbaugh proposed to Whoopie Goldberg but it's not that bad. It's upbeat and unpretentious and is hook-laden to the hilt. I like its urgency. Side B is a bit more mellow but still retains the same energy... If that's possible. Quite a strong single from the new kids on the rock (soorrryyy).
The debut release from Young Legionnaire. This band is made up of Gordon Moakes (Bloc Party), Paul Mullen (The Automatic/ex-Yourcodenameis:milo) and William Bowerman (Brontide, La Roux, ex-Iwasacubscout). You could almost say this is Holy Roar's first ever 'supergroup' release of sorts. Except that this sounds nothing like any of the members previous work - this is detuned, subtly technical stoner indie.
