Brilliant Colors - Walk Into The World

Walk Into The World by Brilliant Colors

2...according to our on Fri 02 Jul, 2010.

The terrible news is that Brilliant Colors have a new single out. The better news is that its not quite as tone deaf as their last single. Its still woefully out of tune and shambolically played but if it was ok for Strawberry Story then its ok for the Brilliant Corners. I'm a terrible singer but if I had a voice that bad I'd never let it out of the practice room. Who encourages these people? Stop it, now! Its hurting my ears, the dogs kept by the courier company next door are yelping. An insipid Shop Assistants. Acceptable in the 80's, not now.

Make a Mess Records presents Walk into the World, BRILLIANT COLORS second 7-inch for the label, following their four-song 2008 debut. With a handful of singles and an LP on the classic Oakland imprint Slumberland, this San Francisco trio has in the past three years projected a glittering stream of noisy pop gems over the Bay Area and beyond, carving a charmed path through indie melody and bratty punk primitivism. "Walk into the World" shimmers into life with a '60s girl-group swing and timeless pop drama, refracted through a hazy DIY lens, initially curious and ultimately triumphant. "Bad Vibes" turns your world upside-down with a downer dose of delightful disorientation. The 7-inch was recorded by garage punk wunderkind TY SEGALL and will be paired by a single just released by Slumberland. Pick 'em up!
