This is the debut album from Atlanta, Georgia's Matthew Jackson Johnson. The 22 year old musician has crafted a wonderful selection of luscious drum propelled pop tunes. The melodies are warm and inviting with sparkly synth tones and an overall sort of tropical/balearic feeling emanating from deep within the grooves. There's even or sort of down tempo electro/ chill out element. What I like in particular is the way a playfulness kinda pervades through some of the melancholy. A rich and absorbing record from this bright young talent.

Released after just one single on download label Beko DSL, the 22 year old producer's debut full length is awash with meticulously crafted synths, pulsing rhythms and giant hooks. Although in the same vein as recent efforts from Korallreven, jj and Air France it still sounds somehow unique - like it was recorded in the cupped breast of Ra in the 10th Summer of Love.
