These guys sound pretty sweet. Its garage rock with a great pop senseabillity. It sounds ace and is so simple. It doesn't really tread or break new musical water. It's too busy being perky and upbeat for any of that nonsense. It's not too skinny and not too chubby. If I was in a jacuzzi and these chipmunks got in as well, I would make sure my best trunks were on and my ears were clean. Then I would ask them if they had ever been in a hot tub that was also a time machine. They would probably say no,then proceed to play some sharp punchy rock at me. I would then put on a towel and ask them to leave... We had the best of times in that jacuzzi but all good things must end sometimes.
Born of the swamp and sun in early 2007, the music of the Jacuzzi Boys roosts like a bad vulture somewhere between the hazy shade of the coconut palm and the fevered neon of the Magic City. This is raucous pop of the murkiest order—jangling guitars, caveman drums, and songs of sex and seashells, dead animals and birthday cakes. Dragging behind in their dusty wake, the Jacuzzi Boys come bearing a string of 7″ singles that did nothing if not forecast the twelve-song tornado that is their debut LP, No Seasons. If 2009 was any indication, 2010 is the year the Jacuzzi Boys come busting out of the tropics, naked as the gator and twice as toothy.
