I'm not sure what's going on here, all i'm aware of is that Ai records is 10 years old & they're commemorating a decade in the biz with, amongst other things, a totally lush picture disc. This features radical updates of tracks from the first ever Ai EP from back in the day. As you can expect, this is a collection of sumptuously presented high-class melodic electronica & deep electro-tech with the artists in question being Plant43, Datassette, EOC, Sinner DC & Pathic. I'm not sure who buys Ai records these days (me, me, i'm having THIS!!), I'm aware they've a rabid cult following and that they're still nurturing some irrepressible talents. Most importantly, this is one of those superb, richly detailed records that reminds me exactly why I got hooked on electronica in the first place. Wonderful package if you can't afford the incredibly scarce 'When I Was 10" double set of exclusives!! There's still only 200 of this baby, the sleeve & piccy disc design is just out of this world too.
* In 1999 Ai Records released it's first ever record: Experiments in Colour.
* To celebrate ten years of music making Ai Records is releasing a very special and limited project.
* Ai will be releasing a limited edition of 200 picture discs featuring a handful of Ai artists remixing their favourite track from the original Experiments in Colour EP.
* The picture disk artwork was created specially by Dalek. Dalek previously worked for Takashi Murakami, but now is an
extremely successful international artist who's creative vision has blown Ai away!
* Each track is encapsulated in its own design. It is a truly beautiful and unique piece of work.
