Health - Disco 2

Disco 2 by Health

4...according to our on Thu 01 Jul, 2010.

Health return with another slab of remix action. This one features remixes from Javelin, Tobacco, Small Black, Gold Panda as well as Crystal Castles and a bunch of others. It begins with a brand new Health track 'USA Boys' which I can't say I'm to fussed about though it is a tasteful ballad in some respects. As I mentioned in my review for the single, the Javelin mix is particularly good, bringing a bit of sunshine to the world of Health. I like it a lot. Other mixes worth mentioning are the minimalist space electro of Tobacco's 'Die Slow' mix as well as Small Black's dreamy mix of 'Severin' which features some lovely vibraphone arpeggios. I don't have time to check out the rest but I'm pretty confident that the remix LP is better than Die Slow from what I've heard here. Also included (as a download for the LP and data on CD) are an additional twelve mixes from Rainbow Arabia, Pink Stallone and the awesome Clipd Beaks so there's plenty to get involved with here. Really wanna hear the Clipd Beaks mix, I bet it's sweet.

Health’s second remix collection ‘Disco 2’ collects reworkings of material from their highly acclaimed sophomore record ‘In Color’ & exclusive new track ‘USA Boys.’ The boys get the remix treatment from friends & tourmates Crystal Castles, US label mates Pictureplane, Chillwave scenesters Small Black, up & coming Gold Panda, Salem, Blondes & more.
