I've not got much of an opinion on Irish folk music so I'm gonna struggle a little here. I've read that Mr. Marc Carroll is a Dylan-approved singer songwriter and this is his new three track E.P. It begins with a rendition of the classic folk murder ballad 'Matty Groves' which showcases Carroll's gruff vocal chords and jangly folk guitar style. Flip it over and things seem a little more traditional indie-pop with both B-sides sounding very much like Teenage Fanclub, albeit done very nicely. It's a gatefold 7" on red vinyl... Tasty.
Led by a powerful version of the classic folk murder song, ‘Matty Groves’ Marc’s latest EP is being issued as a Limited Edition 33rpm 7” Gatefold.
